Privacy policy
Effective date: October 2026
Slide Clicker is a Bluetooth presentation remote for Android, provided by Matchau Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and what we do with it.
Bluetooth operation
The app makes your phone act as a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for a host device you choose to pair with, such as a computer or tablet. It sends key presses, such as the arrow keys, to that host. Android handles device discovery, pairing and Bluetooth permissions.
The connected host's Bluetooth name is shown in the app and its notification so you can see what you are connected to. This name stays on your phone. The app does not read, receive or upload your slides, presentation files or any content from the host, and it does not send Bluetooth device information to us.
Information stored on your device
The app stores three settings in its private storage on your phone: whether to keep the screen awake while connected, whether the volume buttons change slides, and whether you have already seen the connection guide. Android may include these settings in your device backup or when you transfer to a new phone, according to your device and Google account settings. Bluetooth pairing records are managed by Android and by the paired host, not by the app.
What the app does not do
- It does not request internet access and cannot send data over the internet.
- It does not use accounts, sign-in or a server.
- It does not include advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software.
- It does not access your contacts, location, photos, files or microphone.
- It does not write Bluetooth device identifiers to its logs.
Permissions
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth connect and advertise): to act as a Bluetooth keyboard, and to make your phone visible for two minutes when you choose to pair a new host.
- Notifications (optional): to show connection status and a Stop button while a session is running.
- Foreground service: to keep the Bluetooth connection running while the app is in the background or the screen is off. You can stop it at any time from the app or the notification.
The Privacy policy link in the app's Help screen opens this page in your web browser. That visit is handled by your browser and our web host, not by the app.
Your choices
You can revoke Bluetooth and notification permissions in Android Settings. To remove the app's settings, clear its storage or uninstall it. To remove pairing records, unpair the devices in Bluetooth settings on your phone and on the host. Backups are controlled in your device and Google account backup settings.
